Christian Frenopoulo

is a doctoral student in the Medical Anthropology program of the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He holds a master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Regina, Canada. His master’s thesis explored the implementation of the mission of moral transformation in the Barquinha religion of the Brazilian Amazon, which is one of the Brazilian Ayahuasca Religions. The Barquinha stands apart from other Brazilian Ayahuasca Religions especially for its commitment to charity and healing. Previously, he had acquired a post-graduate certificate from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay) on Drugs and Intervention Strategies. His undergraduate degrees are in Anthropology, from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay), and in Philosophy, from the Catholic University of Uruguay. Though currently engaged in the university research and teaching environment, he taught Anthropology and Theory of Knowledge for the International Baccalaureate in international schools for several years, and remains an examiner for Anthropology for this organization.
